GJP recently secured Planning Permission at Planning Committee for a Mixed-Use scheme in the City Centre of Swansea known as ‘Picton Yard’ – a Biophilic Living ethos of living. The proposal will see the re-development of the existing building (The Old Woolworths Building – now Poundland) along with the provision of new retail, office and residential accommodation. There will also be a new 12-storey tower sited to the rear within ‘Picton Yard’ which will also cater for public realm improvements to be utilised as a multi-functional space to compliment the emerging Digital Village proposals adjacent. The scheme will also promote significant green infrastructure throughout the building. The application was recommended for approval by Officers and was approved by members of Planning Committee on 4th February 2020. The proposals will help to achieve the regeneration goals of Swansea City Centre and can inspire the next stages of the regeneration of the City Centre.
